Happy Birthday Lucy!!

Lucy Lee Clemens was born Thursday, July 17th (also my cousin Mindy's b-day- Happy birthday Mindy!). She was 7 lbs. 4 oz. and 20 inches long. I went in for my doc's appointment that morning and was dialated to a 4 so he just went ahead and sent me over to the hospital for a little pitocin. We got to the hospital at 10:30 and Lucy was out by 12:30. Only half of my epideral worked, so I felt everything on my left side (I really wouldn't recommend that to anyone), but other than that everything went really good! Lucy is healthy and she is beautiful. She is definitely a Clemens- she looks a lot like Karson when he was a baby. She has the black hair, and the dark skin. But I see some of me in her face! She has been such a great baby so far. A special thanks to my ward and all of our wonderful visitors- you made our hospital stay a really great experience! Here are a few pics with plenty more to come...

Look! She already has that Clemens scowl down!!

Lucy Meets the Fam

So the kids were so excited to meet their new baby sister. Ty wanted to know how she came out ("and now that she's out, when can mom start running again??") and Mary is a complete baby hog. Karson is curious, but is keeping his distance. I can't believe we are now a family of 6!!!!

Let's Go Down Memory Lane

If you want!

1. As a comment on my blog, leave one memory that you and I had together. It doesn't matter if you knew me a little or a lot, anything you remember!

2. Next, re-post these instructions on your blog and see how many people leave a memory about you. It's actually pretty funny to see the responses. If you leave a memory about me, I'll assume you're playing the game and I'll come to your blog and leave one about you. If you don't want to play on your blog, or if you don't have a blog, I'll leave my memory of you in my comments.

The Radio Shack

So here is an article from the Mesquite Local News on the new Radio Shack. For the picture and everything go to: http://www.mesquitelocalnews.com/viewnews.php?newsid=229&id=17

New Radio Shack Opens
By Morris Workman 07-08-2008
Todd and Keri Leavitt, ownersof the Ace Hardware store inMesquite, have opened a newRadio Shack franchise in theformer Image Matters furniturestore on Mesquite Blvd.
After going nearly a year without a staple in the small appliances business, Mesquite’s electronics “questions” are finally going to “get answers.”
A new Radio Shack franchise opened on Mesquite Blvd. last Wednesday.
While the well-known sign still remains over the empty store in the J.L. Bowler Plaza where a Radio Shack was located until closing for business in August of 2007, the new franchise has opened its doors in the former Image Matters furniture store.
The new store is owned by Todd and Keri Leavitt, the owners of the Ace Hardware store which has been nearly a landmark in Mesquite’s downtown for years.
The Leavitts were not involved with the former Radio Shack.
According to store manager Craig Clemens, the new store is larger than the defunct Radio Shack location, and will offer more.
“One of the things we’ll be focusing on is cellular phones and game systems,” Clemens said on Monday.
The new store has opened in spite of The Buxton Study commissioned by the City of Mesquite which claims that the community is over-served in the area of electronics stores.
There hasn’t been a single electronics store in Mesquite since the closing of the previous Radio Shack, although limited electronics and appliances are available at Wal Mart and some of the local furniture stores.
The new store is a welcome sight to Mesquite residents who previously had to go to Overton or St. George in order to find a Radio Shack.
According to Clemens, the new Mesquite Radio Shack located at 152 W. Mesquite Blvd. is open from 9 a.m. until 7 p.m. Monday through Saturday, and from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. on Sunday

Some random pictures

So we got this for Mary a few weeks ago- and we still have to force her not to wear it every second of every day. She LOVES Cinderella!!!
I have no idea how she picks these places to fall asleep in...
So I guess that my kids have to be up on a ledge where they aren't supposed to be before I can get some genuine smiles from them for a picture... they are with their friends David and Saul.

Watching the Fireworks

We had a great time at the Mesquite fireworks on the 4th. They had big bounce houses and karaoke. I love the small town celebrations, too- all of your friends are there! But one of the highlights of the night was the snow cones.

Mary was totally smitten. She's gonna be my little pyro. I couldn't keep her away from the sparklers and the fountains!

My big 3-0

Okay- so I can totally make fun of myself...
Kregg and I went and saw "Get Smart" and when we came out of the movie theatre, this is what my van looked like.
Our friends Michelle and Dave decked it out very nicely and then made me wear the joe-cool glasses and hat (and gave me a very nice flamingo platter- the flamingo thing is an inside joke).
Anyway- afterwards we went to a very nice fine-dining restaurant with Michelle and Dave. It was a great day. Thanks guys!!

Happy 4th of July!

Happy 4th of July everyone!! So I'm not sure what kind of traditions your family has, but we really like to watch the annual Coney Island Hot Dog Eating Contest. Ty was especially into it this year- he was cheering for Joey Chestnut from the very beginning and was stoked that he beat Kobyoshi after a tie and another eatoff. Anyway- he then proceeds to tell me that he needs a hot dog and some water. So there he went! It's a little harder than it looks, huh Ty?

He did say, however- that he thinks his dad is faster than both of them. So of course- Kregg had to try it.

Happy 4th of July!!

Britney's Reception

So a few weeks ago Kregg's niece Britney got married and we got to go up North to see her. Her beautiful reception was at Thanksgiving Point- wow it was so pretty.

I kinda had fun taking pics of Karson- he's a handsome little bugger.

The Wedding Cake

My kids favorite part of the whole weekend was this cake. This was like a dream come true for them! You could take a cupcake- then someone would just put another one in it's place!! It wasn't too bad of a deal for the pregnant woman, either...
Not to mention they had a chocolate fountain. Oh man. My kids were in heaven. Marshmallows, Rice Krispie Treats, strawberries... Mmmmm. Huh- I wonder if I could rent one of those!! :)

Some of Kregg's Family

Sorry- this pic is kinda small, but this is Kregg's Aunt Peggy (who we just adore) and Josie.

This is Kregg's cousin Kourtnee, his sister Karla (can you see the resemblance???) and her hubby Randy. It was a really long time since we have seen Kourtnee, and I feel bad because I didn't get to talk to her a whole lot. We actually spent most of our time with Karla and Randy. They crack me up.

This is Kregg's brother Kendall (Father of the Bride). Kregg has always looked up to his brother. His wife Heidi is amazing, too. What a great family.
This is one of Kendall's daughters- Karissa, and her fiancee Steve. They are getting married in October (on Ty's birthday in fact!)- and Kregg and Steve get along WAY too good. I think we might be in trouble.
I don't think I really need to say anything about this picture...

Okay- so how lousy am I?? This was the only picture I got of the beautiful bride Britney and her new husband, just as they are leaving. It didn't even turn out very good! Sorry Brit! But her dress was beautiful, and her new husband seems really great. Congrats you two! And sorry Heidi- this was the only pic I got of you, too! How disappointing. But it was a great weekend and we had a great time! It was so great seeing everyone! We miss you all!
